Beachclub BLM9 rises from the flames to host the Intuition Summer Festival

It has been announced that the Intuition Summer Festival will take place at Beachclub BLM9 in Bloemendaal aan Zee after all, despite the fire last Saturday that gutted the venue.

We said that we would do everything in our power to ensure that this event would take place and that we would search high and low for a new location. However, this was not necessary, as Beachclub BLM9 will reopen its doors on 21 August! The clean-up is in full progress and Alda Events is providing its full support to the club’s efforts. As a result, the Intuition Summer Festival can take place at Beachclub BLM9 as planned.

What does this mean to partygoers? It means that you will enjoy the same spectacular line-up in the same great location! The festival will take place outside the remnants of the building, in a circus tent equipped with high-quality lighting and sound installations.

The management of Arnej has contacted us with the message that he unfortunately will not be able to perform at the Intuition Summer Festival 2010 because he is ill. We wish him all the best and hope he’ll recover soon. As the set times were on the short side we decided to divide his set time between some of the other wonderful artists performing this Saturday.

Summer is on its way, festival tickets are being sold by the truckload and everyone is gearing themselves up for endless sun, sea and sand. So what could be better than a festival on the beach featuring the best DJs around? Get your tickets for the Intuition Summer Festival 2010 and electrify your summer!

The Winter Festival, held to celebrate the five-year anniversary of Intuition, is long gone. It’s high time for a summer edition! The Summer Festival will take place on Saturday the 21st of August at Beachclub BLM9 in Bloemendaal aan Zee! DJs from all around the globe will be flown in so that you can enjoy 13 hours of national and international talent.

Get ready to be blown away by the following star DJs:

Canadian producer Arnej catapulted himself into the elite of the global scene with tracks such as ‘Rendezvous’ and ‘They Always Come Back’. Boom Jinx (Norway) has performed his sets throughout the world and spun at events such as the Above & Beyond USA tour. Fellow Norwegian Ørjan Nilsen continues to release success after success, such as the recent release ‘La Guitarra’. Ørjan has also been invited to produce this years theme song for the Intuition Summer Festival, the track is called ‘Sanctuary’ and is destined to be one of the anthems of this year.

And that is just the beginning. For a start, Lange (UK) will be making an entrance! He is known throughout the scene and is much in demand throughout the world, performing everywhere from Amnesia in Ibiza to Tomorrowland in Belgium. Expect nothing less than the best in summer trance sounds and the very latest tracks from his album ‘Harmonic Motion’, scheduled for release on 5 July. Let this talented Brit transport you from Bloemendaal beach to another world! Simon Patterson (UK) also features amongst this impressive line-up. In 2009, he was rated number 42 in the DJ Magazine Top 100, and many people in the know expect him to be the star of 2010.

And what about fellow Brit Mat Zo? In addition to remixing for the biggest names in the global scene, this up-and-coming young producer/DJ has also released a number of fantastic tracks for labels such as Armada Music and Intuition Recordings. He combines electronic music with drum and bass, trance and progressive house, which gives him a completely unique sound.

Of course, there will be no shortage of home-grown DJs. Firstly, First State (NL) will be making an entrance at the festival. Tracks such as ‘Brave’ and ‘Cape Point’ made a considerable impact in the scene, as did his increasingly popular radio show ‘Crossroads’. He will give you a tantalising taste of his sound, best described as trance with a touch of house. Another Dutch act who will feature is the in-demand producer/DJ duo W&W. In less than three years, these two have established a fantastic reputation as DJs, with a twice-weekly online radio show and a fully booked schedule for the coming festival season to prove it. Julian Vincent is yet another Dutch DJ who will feature at Bloemendaal. Proof of his star status can be found in the fact that last autumn, no less than two of his tracks featured on ‘Universal Religion 4’, Armin van Buuren’s exclusive compilation CD. He is famed for his cutting-edge mix of trance and progressive. Finally, the Dutch city Zwolle will be represented at the festival by the much in demand duo MuseArtic (NL). With a number of successful releases that featured at last year’s Intuition Deep festival, they will certainly not be out of their depth among the talent on display this summer.

And finally, the festival would not be complete without Menno de Jong (NL). As the founder of Intuition, the successful Dutch dance label, which also has a radio show, podcast and event organisation bearing the same name, he really doesn’t need any introduction. His new mix album ‘Intuition Sessions Vol. 2 – Rio de Janeiro’ is scheduled to be released very soon. In addition, with a brand-new solo album currently in the making, the mastermind of this amazing event will undoubtedly entrance the crowds with some amazing new tracks.

It’s been 3 years since Menno’s first Intuition Sessions album visited South Africa, but the big news is that his compilation series is finally back for its second spin of the discs. The heart and mind of 2010’s vol.2 will be actually be city-specific (as opposed to country) and hone in on that nu hot-bed of electronic dance action, Rio de Janeiro.

Menno himself has recorded new and exclusive tracks specifically for the album and there is also early-confirmed hot-of-the-desk material from Airbase, Orjan Nilsen & Shane Halcon. Full release date is still awaiting confirmation, but keep watching the Intuition Recordings and Menno de Jong websites, newsletters and social media pages for all the latest breaking on it.

Sat here today it ‘may’ seem like a fair while to wait, but once we start the ‘march’ towards Summer 2010 (see what we’re doing here!) August is going to come rushing up pretty darn quick! We are of course talking about the high point of high summer: the 21st of Aug, and the date of the 2010 Intuition Summer Festival.

Menno is keeping info-specifics somewhat close to his chest at the moment. He has though let slip that The Big One will see a venue change and I.S.F.2010 will this year take place at the beautiful, bodacious BLM9 beach club in Boemendaal aan Zee. Line-up details will be released forthwith and you can keep a ready eye on breaking news via the Intuition website & social spaces.

Egyptian Trance phenomenon Aly & Fila made an impressive debut in 2008’s DJ Mag Top 100. This year they have topped that by climbing the chart to the 22nd position. With the Future Sound of Egypt radio show, the similarly named label and slamming singles and remixes this success was inevitable and predicts much more to come.

Next guest of honour is ‘Swedish Beatball’ Marcus Schössöw, who is currently taking the scene by storm. His initial breakthrough may be credited to the innovative sound of ‘Mr. White’, but recently his mix of futuristic Techno, banging House and smooth Trance have been strongly represented by his Tone Diary imprint and first album release ‘Outside The Box’.

Fellow Swede Airbase is the alias for Trance.nu co-founder and legendary DJ-producer Jezper Söderlund. Signing off on the second ever Intuition release ‘Escape / For The Fallen’ means he can not be missed at this event. This classic release was followed by many more succesful singles and with an album in the making it looks like there are many more to come.

Belgian wonderboy Jonas Steur is a man whose sound has recently evolved to new levels of finesse and maturity. Some of his releases such as ‘Castamara’ and ‘Above’ have made the sound of Intuition what it is today. Especially for this occasion Jonas will be bringing together the old and the new to rock the house once more.

Finishing touch in the ‘5 Years Intuition’ arena is the Intuition head honcho himself.
Menno de Jong: “It’s incredible how many beautiful moments we have had the pleasure of experiencing during 5 years of Intuition. We’ve got a dedicated and lovely audience, artists that always deliver their best and graced legendary venues such as the Melkweg, Panama, Escape, The Sand, Bloomingdale and Asta. That’s not all; as part of the birthday neighbouring venue ‘Westerliefde’ will be hosting the Anjunadeep Vol. 2 World Tour. Dutch Prog masters 16 Bit Lolitas will be joining the Australian Jaytech to deliver an excellent mix of deep sounds. The warmup is courtesy of the incredibly talented Fine Taste, who will be showcasing a brand new selection of their latest productions.
